Nightwish - Highest Hopes - Century Media Nightwish
meant the world to certain elements of the music community in the form that
the world came to know and they will be missed.
To cap off a career with Tarja at the helm of the band
Century Media has given a gift to us in the form of Highest Hopes - The
Best Of Nightwish. They meant
many things to many people but what I know them for are powerful epic tracks
that did not go with the norm in the power metal community.
I think her beautiful operatic voice lent so well to what they did and
there was just nobody that could touch her voice with the exception of Tanja
from Lullacry. Tracks like Nemo,
Stargazers and Wishmaster all delve into the spirit that the relied upon to call
up the majestic tracks that hey put forth for their adoring public to feast
upon. The only glaring omission from this set is Phantom Of The Opera and for
that I am mystified as to why the set producers here left that off.
That is an incredible rendition of that powerful song and it is sadly
missing. Now that Tarja has sadly
departed the band we will not have the same Nightwish as we once knew them but
we do have their music to live on in our minds ear and that is all that matters. 8/10 Jeffrey Easton |
