Vengeance - Back In The Ring - Locomotive Vengeance
recalls a great era known as the mid eighties when groups were still discovering
what metal was going to be and where it was heading.
They took the aggressiveness of early Motley and Krokus and mended it
with the sounds that AC/DC were best known for and made it their own.
They dealt a few albums out on the through the 80s and 90s and now they
are back with, no pun intended, a Vengeance.
Back In The Ring displays that you can still be a dirty, nasty groove
oriented band still in the sense of AC/DC and get away with it in this day of
hardcore and just bad metal. Leon
Goewie is the best example of a singer with plenty of balls as he spews his
gritty and yet fun at he same time lyrics.
You have to appreciate the material that they produce as there is not a
lot of it around at the moment sans the new Krokus release.
The 11 tracks dealt out here are just plain and simple party tunes, meant
to just cruise to and blast out of your speakers, no pretentiousness here.
So if you want a ball busting, groove oriented disc that rings of the
80’s without sounding like it was recorded then, you need the new Vengeance. 8/10 Jeffrey
