Vixen -
Live & Learn - Demolition While
I was never the biggest Vixen fan back in the day, I would never turn them off
if the came on MTV or whatever. Now
it is 2007 and Vixen have released their forth studio cd and they really should
have kept this to themselves. This
album a terrible example of going through the motions and it sounds forced.
I actually went through the cd trying to find some sort of redemption and
I cannot. I cant believe that they sat in the control room and actually
thought this was good. It sounds
nothing like the old Vixen, instead it seems like Jan is trying to appeal to to
many crowds at one time. Sounds
like Alanis Morisette fronting a tepid rock band on to many songs and Bonnie
Raitt in others. If you were not
going to do a record that went along with the original Vixen idea with
understandable modernizations, then do not bother.
I do hope they live and learn from this terrible record. 2/10 Jeffrey Easton |
