Static X - Cannibal - Reprise Since the late 90’s Static X
have been setting the bar for aggression in the new wave of metal and with
their new assault Cannibal they are ever pushing forward. Cannibal is
exactly how it sounds, it eats you alive with no remorse and spits out your
crumbled remains. Wayne Static and his merciless band have
generated a bruising release that that does not let up. There is a
reason that they stay signed to a major label, they generate pure no frills
metal and their rabid fans keep coming back for more time after time.
There are twelve sickening tracks on Cannibal and that means twelve more ways
that Static X will feed you into their machine and never let go.
The lyrics travel along the dark edges of the minds of Static and are
twisted as usual. The guitar riffs are precision as if created by a
programmed machine and not their phenomenal axe wielder Koichi Fukuda.
The rhythms are earth shattering as if the music is fueled by an earthquake.
In a few words this CD is no ballads, no bullshit just pure brutality.
