The Unholy Alliance - Preaching To The Perverted - American

A Slayer tour is always a monumental event and the summer trek last year was no exception.   Not only did they come out with a full blown Slayer show they brought along a lot of their friends for the party to.   The Unholy Alliance was the nastiest show to be seen and this bill was a dangerous alliance.  Thine Eyes Bleed and Mastodon  are fast rising metal stars and they commanded respect from Slayers fans that showed up early enough to catch their brutal sets.   Children Of Bodom have been a pleasant surprise since they broke out in a big way a few years ago and they have drawn a legion of fans into their explicitly demonic brand of Euro styled metal.  Lamb Of God are certified superstars now with the release of their Sony CD Sacrament and there is no turning back.  I foresee these guys becoming the biggest metal band in America before this is all over.  LOG added so much to this tour, adding another level of brutality and danger with their massive set list.  The main attraction of course was Slayer.  They always deliver the goods and this sortie was no different.  I saw the Long beach show and I was blown away as always by the sheer massiveness of their delivery.  They ARE Metal and they only have followers at this point in their career.   The added bonuses on this DVD are interesting to say the least.  On one hand you have some great interview material and on the other you had parking lot interviews that left a lot o be desired and that is about as far as I will go with that.  This was THE metal tour  last year  and this DVD is a great capture for this moment in time.
