Helloween - Gambling With The
Devil - SPV Helloween have enjoyed a two decade
plus career but with Gambling With The Devil, it only seems like they are
getting started. Helloween have been known for their melodic, guitar
driven affairs but with this album it seems as if they turned the burners
higher. Right from the start of this magnum opus they show why
they have lasted so long, insane guitar intros and Andi’s amazing vocals to
match. After the opener of Crack The Riddle, they go right into the
madness with Kill It and there is no letting up. All 12 tracks here are
keepers, not one ounce of filler which is very rare, period but I do believe
As Long As Long As I Fall is possibly the Best Helloween track Ever written.
The chorus is enough to keep bringing you back to this track over and over.
The same can be said for The Saints or Paint A New World, just to many good
songs here. I have never had a bad word to say about
Helloween but since the Dark Ride they have really hit a new stride in their
career when most bands are relying on Greatest Hits packages to make them
money. If you have never listened to Helloween or need a new injection
of serious metal, you Must pick this Masterpiece up! Review by Jeffrey Easton
