Lizzy Borden - Appointment With Death - Metal Blade The problem with Lizzy Borden is that he takes to long to put out records. Deal With The Devil was a phenomenal comeback for the Borden legacy and the metal legions felt that more was in the offering. More was but we had to wait 7 long years to get the follow up to DWTD. Appointment With Death is on par with Deal and in some places more focused. Lizzy takes on the form of Death in this play of madness and his henchmen known as his band mates are his enablers. “Appointment “dwells in the lower reaches of our subconscious unearthing long lost thoughts that you tried to repress long ago. One of Lizzy’s best talents was creating a fantasy world surrounded by metal and Appointment is just that fantasy and you have formally met death with your passage through these 11 sinister tracks. Like Devil, Appointment is a melodic affair, leaguing Lizzy with some of Metal’s best players in creating this opus. The choruses lead the lyrics into your senses as Lizzy’s voice takes care of the rest. This is indeed Lizzy at his finest hour and here is to not waiting seven more years for the next one. www.lizzyborden.com CD review by Jeffrey Easton
