Eternal Descent - Losing Faith - Incendium This is why I LOVE what I do, the chance to stumble upon something different that I might not have heard otherwise. Eternal Descent is a two person project of epic proportions. The incredible music skills of Llexi Leon, maybe one of the most underrated and most unknown masterful songwriters and the seductive vocals of Elysha West. To describe the music on this 12 track disc is close to impossible. You have the definite element of metal but it is enclosed in the wraps of electronics that adds a disturbing element to the mix. You have traces of the industrial movement with pop sensibilities that ties it all together and creates a melodic feel to it. This is head phone music, which is how I am listening to it as I write this. You have to as there are so many little elements of sound buried into the mix of the music that you might miss otherwise, a pure wall of sound if you will. There is a story here with a gothic feel, a fall into chaos and ruins from greatness if I am not mistaken. Llexi lets Elysha guide you through the story that he has created and she is an excellent purveyor of the goods. Very rare to find a vocalist that can handle a variety of feels in the same song much less a fem vocalist. The anime cover is also alluring to the senses and a great conceptual piece in its own right. Fans of metal, goth, industrial and dark wave will eat this up, a must for a fan of the abnormal. www.myspace.com/eternaldescent www.eternaldescent.com CD review by Jeffrey Easton
