Sebastian Bach - Angel Down - Caroline/EMI Back in the late 80’s THE Metal Poster boy was Sebastian Bach and considering his vocal abilities, he had few rivals. After 3 great studio records and quite a few tours the ride was over and he was on his own. After a decade of hit and miss musical outings and calls to Broadway, Sebastian has finally found his way back to where he belongs, screaming for his metal life. His first full blown solo outing, the aptly titled Angel Down, finds back in his Skid Row prime, full of aggression and with something to say. He does have help from a few friends, namely Axl Rose joining him on a few songs and the amazing producer/guitar player Roy Z. Roy has turned the dials on some of the best metal records of the last 10 years and this one is no exception. Sonically this is an amazing record and musically it is superior to most albums that have dropped recently. Sebastian has enlisted a majority of what was Rob Halford’s solo band and turned in a metal jugernaught. The songs range from balls out metal anthems like American Metal Head, the usual heart wringing ballads in By Your Side and “love” songs in the form of (Love Is) A Bitchslap. He is joined by the aforementioned Axl on the rousing rendition of Aerosmith’s classic Back In The Saddle, bringing it louder and harder to a whole new generation to discover. All in all Sebastian has delivered 14 new reasons to say he is still The metal screamer to reckon with and that he is Not going to go away easily. If you have been missing that shot of metal then Angel Down is the syringe to deliver it. www.sebastianbach.com
