Aborted - Slaughtered & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture - Century Media Aborted
in the last few years have become the most
important extreme metal band in the world. Their last record, The Archaic Abattoir,
saw them with tours of America and a new legion of fans.
I did not think they could top that last disc but yet I was wrong.
Slaughtered & Apparatus has buried Archaic as if it did not exist.
The songs are intense in their structure and the lyrics are just as sick
as the last disc. Unlike
other songs by most other extreme metal bands, they think their titles and songs
through to not be the typical gore but well thought out
meticulous manslaughter. With
titles like Prolific Murder Contrivance, Ingenuity
In Genocide, A Foul Nucleus Of Resurrection and Underneath Rorulent Soil, how
could you think otherwise? Intensity
and aggressiveness go together and
make this a blatant exercise in brutality as it careens toward
a gargantuan finish. I did
notice the production values and how amazing this disc sounds especially the
drums. The drums come to the
forefront and the double bass blasts through your speakers as if they are right
in your room with you. These
guys are going to be huge and will be long remembered. 10/10 Jeffrey Easton |
