Heaven & Hell - Live From Radio City Music Hall - Rhino

Ronnie James Dio and Tony Iommi in their own right are responsible for the modern tone of metal so it was so deservedly fitting that when they came together  they created some of the best metal records of our time in the form of Heaven & Hell, Dehuminizer and Mob Rules.  Although the records were intense, so was the relationship of the band and therefore we only have 3 full records over 28 years, just imagine if we had more.  The hatchets buried, we got a reunion that filled arenas over the course of last year  which was a feat that few bands were able to do but fans new and old were hungry for something that had not happened in 15 years, Dio and Iommi on the same stage.  The reunion was electric and the shows were flat out amazing, the songs sounding as good as the day they were recorded, no moss grown here. This show in particular was 15 songs deep and none of them short of the classic mark.  Shaking of the chains, they grazed through Mob Rules, Computer God, Heaven & Hell and Neon Nights amongst others.  The entire band, Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appice were tight and consistent, jamming out the songs where appropriate and showing their musical prowess.  This metal meeting was needed to show that classic metal still could take the reigns once again and I am glad that it was Heaven & Hell that did it.
