Iron Maiden - Live After Death - UMe Maiden are metal. Metal was in its toddler stage still when Iron Maiden came along and after a few records they were setting the metal world on Fire. With releases like Killers, Number Of The Beast and Powerslave there was no stopping them. When they went out on tour, they drew arena crowds constantly and their live shows were second to none. To demonstrate this all you need is to view this live document from their powerful 1984-85 world tour that was famously documented with the original Live After Death double LP and Home Video. Just to view their power and musical ability as they tear through this potent live set of Maiden classics is breathtaking. It has been 23 years now since that piece of time and this video has not aged one day. It is still the same band as today and they are still as powerful. I saw them on their return to Long Beach and the show was just as stunning as if they had not aged at all. The other goodies that the band has slipped on here is their historic Rock In ‘85, the Behind The Iron Curtain documentary as well as the history of Iron Maiden part 2. The behind the Iron Curtain piece is nice as it shows that the old Soviet Union loved their metal and it opened the gates for other bands to follow. You also have a great gallery here with old pics etc and promo videos. This is the DVD that die hard Maiden fans have been waiting for and it does not come up short on expectations. Up the Irons once more. DVD review by Jeffrey Easton
