Stuck
Mojo - Southern Born Killers - Napalm Like
a phoenix rising from the dead Stuck Mojo are back and have released what may be
their best work since Snappin’ Necks. Just
when you thought they were done, they have come back to bang your unwary head
once again with ferocious riffs, hell bent raps and knowledge as well.
These guys are true southerners and Americans and that is obvious from
the opening salvo of I’m American, possibly the most patriotic anthem I have
heard from a rock band. Southern
Born Killers is a pure call out from the south complete with one of the nastiest
riffs Rich could pull out of his guitar. For the old fans you remember Bonz but
he has since departed only to be replaced by Lord Nelson, a 100% capable front
man with a pure flow that reminds me of Chuck D and Dr. Dre.
This disc does take a political/religious turn with For The Cause for
Allah, which is beyond words and really needs the listener to make its own
judgment from what he hears from this spoken words piece.
That is followed with the middle eastern flavored and directed Open
Season which is one of the best tracks on this disc. The disc is peppered
throughout with gut tearing tracks like Metal Is Dead, Home and That’s When I
Burn. This is just not a comeback
for Stuck Mojo, this is a full blown assault.
This is not just a stroll down memory lane, this is a complete takeover
of the metal season and yes, it is truly Open Season.
You have been warned. CD
