Alabama Thunderpussy - Open Fire - Relapse Bands
like these only come along once in awhile and lets just say that’s not a bad
thing. I just do not know what it
is about these bands that grates me the wrong way but they do.
The whole gravel voiced Molly Hatchet on Steroids sound does not mesh
well. I thought we had this stuff
covered with like named Nashville Pussy but I guess I am wrong.
The songs here just do not resonate well with me and
I just cannot see myself much less anybody else listening to them. They even made this album cover very reminiscent of what
Molly Hatchet did and the song titles seem like something that Hatchet
would have grace their record covers.
Whisky War, The Beggar and Words Of A Dying Man are old and clichéd
titles. If you like bar band music that you hear at 1:30 am after drinking
heavily and there is not a better band in the house, then this is for you… 3/10 Jeffrey Easton |
