Starofash
- The Thread - Candlelight Once
and awhile in my area of the music world you get a release that
you have to keep listening to to completely grasp what you are hearing.
This release by Starofash is one of them.
The complexities of the melodies, the intricacies of Heidi Solberg
Tveitan’s vocals and the interesting little noises that were injected.
Everything comes together to make the new Starofash what it is, hard to
get but yet you want to. The
peaceful piano that intertwines through lays a foundation just as much as the
break beats and the bass lines that come in.
That is the 10 track CD that is The Thread.
You have intermittent vocal lines and the occasional guitar riffs like we
find in the lone heavier track, ‘Blood Bones and a Skull”.
I will not attempt to translate the meanings of her songs as I feel that
is up to you. Who am I to judge
what she means or what she is attempting to say as the seductively breathes the
words over the intertwining music. “Drag
Them Down” is possibly the best piece of music I have heard outside of the
industrial world, the insets of noises truly makes this a remarkable track.
Something different from an album of difference.
I would recommend this to any fan of music as you will find something in
here that you will like. CD
