Taint
- Secrets And Lies - Candlelight At
first listen I thought that this was just
another stab at what Clutch or Crowbar were doing way back when but as I gave it
a few more spins I was finding more thoughtful riffs mixed in melodic passages.
I would not call this a doom release either but the sound is prevalent
throughout this release with hints here and there and it dominates the
instrumental dirge Goddamn This City. This
UK band has a lot to offer the rock community with their sophomore release and
even with the more sensible melodic leanings it will still bash
you over the skull with the delivery.
This is no band to play around with, they mean business. The sound is
hard to place but then you do not want to buy the same CD from a different band
over again do you? If you like your
metal thick and meaty with overbearing vocals then you must have this. CD
