Testament - The Formation Of Damnation - Nuclear Blast Records

Testament, in my opinion, were the kings of Thrash.  They marched through the 80’s and early 90’s with titanic releases that eclipsed their peers in more ways than one.  But after the release of The Ritual the band that would be kings slowly fell apart just leaving Chuck and Eric as the sole original members to soldier on with sub par releases.  Through it all most of the members have stayed active in music and through  it all they found their way back to make a new record.  They could have just made a record to go back out on tour with but they have recorded a monster.   The Formation Of Damnation is THE CD that they needed to come back with and the one that the fans want to hear.   The 11 tracks here represent the best work that Testament has turned in in ages.  From the bite that the instrumental opener For The Glory Of has to the over the top classic Testament feel Henchmen Ride delivers, this is the definitive roar back.  More Than Meets The Eyes,  The Evil Has Landed and Killing Season all harken back to what made Testament great, huge vocals, massive guitars and a fast as a shark rhythms.  And to the fans that have become used to slower songs with the classic Testament, they are not here.  They are shotgun fast and utterly devastating.  Everybody was on the edge of their seat while waiting for this dramatic come back and it was well worth the wait.  If you are a metal fan and you Do Not buy this, you have now lost your metal badge, you are Not a metal head.
