Five Finger Death Punch – American Capitalist – Prospect Park

By Jeffrey Easton

Three albums in to their career and three albums of the same thing, hard nosed, unflinching hardcore.  They do one thing and although they do it well it must be boring as hell to go into the studio and just drill out a bunch of hardcore riffs.  Ivan Moody comes off as the” a typical singer” of the 2000’s era metal band: pissed off and just pissed off.  With the exception of a few songs, namely Remember Everything, it’s just monotone angry metal with the same riffs played a few different ways.  If you are a fan of this band, you are shit happy about this CD but if you are me you are already listening to something else. They call this album American Capitalist as a poke I guess at the corporate higher ups that make a ton of cash but they are just as guilty by making another record that they know will sell well to their willing suckers, I mean fans, and in turn make them a ton of cash.  One big fat happy circle.
