VANS WARPED TOUR: “BEST DAY EVER” AND "REVERSE DAYCARE" EXPANDED FOR 2013!

The VANS WARPED TOUR® kicked off this past weekend in the Northwest to great success and is now making its way around the country. On Sunday at the Portland, OR stop, the tour announced that all Dads could get in free in honor of Father’s Day. The program, which allows one parent a complimentary ticket into the festival if they are accompanying a paid ticket was an immediate hit and tour founder, Kevin Lyman, a Dad himself, has decided it will continue for the rest of the 2013 run so all Warped fans under 18 can attend without hassle (dates below). *Patrons can pick up the ticket at the Vans tent out front.

"We’ve been noticing on our boards lots of fans without transportation,” explains tour founder Kevin Lyman. “We decided everyday for 2013 should be Mother’s and Father’s day, so we will celebrate by giving any parent who is bringing someone to the Warped Tour a ticket to enjoy the fun.”

The program is also an extension of the Reverse Daycare tent. Located inside the vendor village on the Warped festival grounds, the Reverse Daycare is a special enclosed oasis--with air-conditioning, movies and cold-beverages--where festival-goers can drop-off their parents. This year, organizers have expanded the popular Reverse Daycare tent which continues to grow every year.

Additionally, those looking for a green way to attend the VANS WARPED TOUR can check out Rock & Bus* http://www.rockandbus.com which provides round trip shuttles to venues. Some venues have shuttles that are dedicated to Warped shows. Check the venue website for more information on easy public transportation routes and venue shuttles for specific Warped shows.

About the Vans Warped Tour:
The VANS WARPED TOUR® is well established as America’s premier music and lifestyle festival of the summer, breaking up-and-coming indie talent as well as both creating and showcasing major established artists since 1995.  The nationally-renowned festival is the most eclectic traveling tour and features a diverse array of artists--with hotly tipped acts in every genre from punk, metal and indie to rock, hip-hop, rap, EDM, reggae and pop; as well as a variety of lifestyle attractions for its traditionally low ticket price. The tour has cemented its place in history by bringing punk rock/skate/action sports culture from the underground to the forefront of global youth culture, while at the same time helping those in need and being the first tour to consistently use groundbreaking environmental concepts every year on the road. The Warped Eco Initiatives (WEI) focus on making the tour more environmentally friendly whether it is through eco conscious catering for the artists and crew courtesy of Tada Catering or a solar-powered sound system on the Kevin Says Stage. Further, www.vanswarpedtour.com even showcases public transportation options for every tour date and carpool social media apps as well as exotic eco travel contests. For more information on the tour that Alternative Press readers voted the “Best Tour/Festival” of 2009/2010/2011/2012 and Rolling Stone called “America’s most successful festival” (2005) go to: www.vanswarpedtour.com. Now in its 19th year, the 40-date tour will commence June 15 in Seattle, WA and finishes August 4 in Houston, TX.
